The story behind the practice
Jesus, Discipline, Faith.
8 Pillars of the Mind brings a Jesus-centered practice into everyday life. Its story begins with founder Donovan Duran and a desire to share the pillars with others.
Founder story
A story shaped by faith and change.
Donovan Duran was raised in Pecos, New Mexico, as a devout Catholic. He graduated from Capital High in Santa Fe, attended Arizona Christian University, played college basketball, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
He worked for his family business, DSG, a dirt construction company. Donovan believes the lessons he learned there prepared him for his life’s mission.
After a knee injury, while undergoing a weight transformation, he discovered the 8 Pillars of the Mind. The homepage dates that discovery to spring 2012, following a weight-loss transformation and spiritual awakening.
Donovan’s stated goal is to share the pillars with the world. At 8 Pillars of the Mind, that goal takes a practical shape: helping people deepen their relationship with Jesus and put faith into everyday life.
